The Imperial Badge, Kyoto, Japan ~ this is roof of Nijo castle, in Kyoto. It was the residence of the Tokugawa shoguns when they visited from their own capital in Edo (Tokyo). This imperial crest suplanted the Tokugawa crest as a symbol of the victory of the Emperor over the shoguns in the XIX century.
